AP Government Demolishes Illegal Constructions On GITAM University Campuses

The Andhra Pradesh government led by Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has been focusing on land scams that took place during the regime of the previous government and take back the encroached lands.

Under the investigation, the officials have found out that the Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management (GITAM) University in Visakhapatnam has encroached govt lands.

Following this, the officials have demolished the properties of GITAM university in Rushikonda and Endada surroundings that were reportedly encroached by the university.

In the report submitted to the government, the officials informed the government that 40.5 acres were encroached by the GITAM management in Rushikonda and Endada surroundings.

The demolition works of the illegal construction works were carried out by Visakhapatnam Revenue Divisional Officer(RDO) Kishore. Police were deployed at the site.

GITAM University belongs to Former TDP MP late MVVS Murthy. TDP leader and Balakrishna's son-in-law Sri Bharat is serving as the chairman of the university.
