AP Government Employees to get additional service of 2 years!

Update: 2022-01-31 12:29 GMT
Pushing the retirement age for the government employees to 62 from the existing 60 was taken by the Andhra Pradesh government recently. The Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy also gave its nod to the decision.

Following the due procedure, the government issued an ordinance on the hike in the retirement age and it got approval from the Governor. The change in the retirement age is applicable from the 1st of January. With this, the employees will get an additional service of two years.

The ordinance came at a time when the employees are on a warpath to fight against the PRC recommendations. The protests are going on in full swing and the employees have made it clear that until their demands are addressed, they will not take part in the meeting.

Coming to the stand of the Andhra Pradesh government on the issue, the government said that the salaries for the employees will be issued as per the new PRC recommendations and even directed the concerned officials to process the bills for the salaries and pensions for the employees.

The face-off between the Andhra Pradesh government and the employees has started with the PRC issue. The employees are not happy with the recommendations and they want the salaries to be given as per the old recommendations.
