AP Government has set a target of Rs 40,000 crore investments & 4 lakh jobs by 2020 when it proudly announced its IT Policy in 2014. Two years have passed, Yet none of the major companies have come forward to invest in the state. At present, IT Exports stood at Rs 200 per year and that's not gonna help any way.
Irked by the poor response, State Government is now working on the guidelines of new IT Policy which is intended to bridge the gaps in the current policy. The sole agenda is to lure the major companies with the announcement of new incentives.
The New IT Policy might offer an increase in capital incentive of up to 30 percent. State Cabinet will approve it once the final draft is prepared.
AP Government is also focusing on attracting manufacturing companies to set up plants such as Sri City in Chittoor district. This plant has been providing employment to 8,000 people. In addition, Start-Ups will be encouraged in IT & Electronics Sector.
