Ap Govt Stresses Theatre Owners To Follow Rules!

Update: 2021-12-18 06:56 GMT
The theatre owners in Guntur, Chittor, East Godavari, Nellore districts in Andhra Pradesh faced a sudden shock when the officials of the Revenue Department called for a sudden search in the theaters to look into various aspects. Not restricted to just searching, the officials are even gearing up to seize the theaters that are not following the rules and guidelines.

The revenue department officials are conducting searches in the hospitals to see if the tickets are being sold for higher prices. Besides this, they are also seeing at the other facilities available at the theaters like the CCTV footage and the parking facilities and the charges the owners are charging.

Though the theatre owners are facing such treatment for the first time, the rules are not new. The guidelines were not brought by the YS Jagan Mohan Reddy government either. The rules were older ones and the current government is seeing that the guidelines get implemented across the state irse[pective of the scale of the theatres.

There has been no such monitoring on the theatres, which made the theatre owners go ahead on the shows that are aired in the theaters. Whenever a big star's film gets released then extra shows will be aired and the tickets are sold for a higher price than the usual prices.

As the previous governments did not look into the matter earlier, it encouraged the theatre owners to make their own rules. But with the current Andhra Pradesh government giving a special focus on this, the theatre owners are facing the heat of the implementation of the rules.

The rule's implementation got a much-needed momentum after the Andhra Pradesh High Court gave the responsibility of fixing the ticket fares as per the orders issued by the Single Bench. Besides this, the Joint Collector is also seeing if the rules are being followed or not.

The revenue officials who were searching the theaters have been capturing the entire episode and sending the same to the concerned authorities and from the authorities, it will reach the Joint Collector. Once all the data and information is collected, a detailed report would be prepared by the Joint Collector. Once the report is submitted to the government, further action would be taken.
