AP Govt To Provide 15,000 For Last Rites Of Virus Patients

The spread of the ongoing pandemic is raising many fears and concerns in Andhra Pradesh as the fresh cases and fatalities in connection with the virus increasing rapidly.

Following this, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy took a serious note on the problems surfaced while cremating the deceased patients of the respiratory disease and announced the government will be giving money for the deceased patients for the last rites.

This development came after, some negligent incidents where the corpses of the pandemic patients shifted to graveyards in tractors and JCBs surfaced. As per the guidelines, the family members of the deceased should not take part in the last rites.

CM Jagan who got to know about the inhuman treatment felt sorrow for them and announced Rs 15,000 towards the final rites of the patient who lost their lives to the disease.

In addition to that, the govt said, hospitals that indulge in such practices will have to face dire consequences. The concerned officials will monitor the services provided by the hospitals.
