The Andhra Pradesh High Court on Monday ordered a CBI probe into derogatory social media postings passed on judges in recent times.
The HC was not satisfied with the investigation done by CID and ordered the CBI to submit a report within 8 weeks.
According to reports, the HC bench directed the CID to extend cooperation to the CBI in the investigation.
The AP High Court has so far issued notice to 49 leaders and activists of the ruling YSR Congress party regarding the same.
The High Court has issued notices to several YCP activists including Assembly Speaker Thammineni Sitaram, deputy Chief Minister Narayana Swamy, Rajya Sabha member Vijaya Sai Reddy, Bapatla YSRCP MP Nandigam Suresh and former Chirala MLA Amanchi Krishna Mohan.
