AP Liquor Traders Apply For License In Telangana In Huge Number!

It has been reported that liquor traders in Andhra Pradesh are focusing on Telangana State. While Jagan, who has won the 2019 elections has brought a new liquor policy in AP. With this policy, the liquor traders have decided to start their business in Telangana. Most of the applications for licenses of liquor shops across Telangana are reportedly by Andhra Pradesh liquor traders.

The AP government has decided to run government liquor shops for which the government has taken control of the liquor shops there. This has forced the liquor traders to focus on Telangana. A large number of applications were filed in, Nalgonda, Mahabubnagar and Khammam, the border districts for Andhra Pradesh. It has been known that in spite of the Telangana government has increased the fee for applying for liquor shops from 1 lakh to 2 lakhs, many liquor traders have applied.

 According to reports, there are 2216 licensed liquor shops in Telangana. The officials have said that they have received more than 45, 000 applications. A large number of applications were received in Nalgonda, Mahabubnagar, Khammam and Warangal district. The liquor traders belonging to Kurnool and Kadapa have reportedly applied in Mahabubnagar and Greater Hyderabad. The traders of Krishna, Guntur, East Godavari, and West Godavari districts are competing for licenses in Nalgonda and Khammam reportedly.

The AP traders who are into this business since long back, have shifted their focus to Telangana with the new policy implemented by the AP government. The traders are saying that they don't know other work other than the liquor business. Reportedly the Telangana government had agreed to help the AP traders. The government even opened counters to clarify doubts of the AP traders. Interestingly, Telangana is getting benefited with AP's new liquor policy. It is estimated that the Telangana government is getting an extra 200 crores with AP trader's applications.
