Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have been among Top 10 Farmer Friendly Sates in the Country.
As per NITI Aayog's Index on reforms in the farm Sector, Maharashtra stood right on top for implementing farmer friendly policies. While AP secured 7th Position, Telangana stood at the 8th Spot. Madhya Pradesh, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh were ranked 4th, 5th and 6th respectively. While Karnataka is at 7th Spot, Goa and Chhattisgarh settled at 9th and 10th positions.
As many as 22 out of 29 Indian States have fared badly in NITI Aayog's Agriculture Marketing and Farmer Friendly Reforms Index. This include West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Assam, Punjab and J&K.
NITI Aayog's Farm Index points out reforms haven't implemented in Several States and Union Territories. Focus areas were low income generation and low growth.
