Speaker turns down Disqualification of 13 YCP MLAs

AP Assembly Speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Rao rejected the couple of petitions moved by YSR Congress seeking disqualification of 13 legislators who joined ruling TDP in the past few months. He turned down the plea of Main Opposition citing the petitions didn't comply with the rules set for disqualification of MLAs.

YCP whip Amarnath Reddy filed the first petition seeking disqualification of 11 legislators who defected to Telugu Desam. The second petition was filed by TSRC MLA Mustafa Sheik requesting for similar action again two more MLAs who jumped fence.

Starting from February 22th this year, About 20 YCP MLAs have joined TDP so far. Even though few more Opposition legislators were keen to shift loyalties, TDP Leadership doesn't want to create more internal problems by welcoming all the rebel candidates. Chandrababu Naidu wishes to invite only those leaders who could strengthen the party.
