AP, Telangana to discuss key issues at 29th Southern Zonal Council meeting with Amit Shah!

Ahead of the Tirupati by-poll elections, Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) leader, Union Home Minister Amit Shah is expected to tour in temple city Tirupati next month. The tour is likely to last for two days.

During his visit, Amit Shah will reportedly chair the 29th Southern Zonal Council meeting. Chief Ministers of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Telangana will participate in the meeting on March 4.

Following the meeting, the Telangana government has written to the Krishna River Board that allotting special status to the Kaleshwaram project should be discussed during the meeting.

Special status for Polavaram project, carrying out a study to see that the Telangana Territory will not get submerged with the Polavaram project and the disputes with AP over Polavaram and Pattiseema were also mentioned in the letter reportedly.

Coming to fellow Telugu state Andhra Pradesh is expected to raise the long-awaited Special status issue in the meeting. Funds of Polavaram major irrigation project, development of the Visakhapatnam-Chennai industrial corridor, and metro projects will also be discussed.

Earlier this month, AP CM Jagan Mohan Reddy raised the special status issue at the NITI Aayod meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
