Indian Student Vishwanath Akuthota was arrested in the United States for intentionally damaging around 50 computers in The College of Saint Rose in Albany.
Reportedly, Vishwanath used a 'USB Killer Device' which could send varied power surge to destroy the computers in the college campus. The College of Saint Rose in Albany incurred a loss of $50,000 (Rs 35.55 lakh) due to this destructive activity.
Vishwanath Akuthota was detained and produced in the court. If the charges were proven, He will have to face imprisonment up to 10 years and a penalty of $2.5 lakh (Rs 1.80 crore approx)
The 26-Year-Old hails from Andhra Pradesh. He went to United States for higher studies and staying there with Student Visa. What Vishwanath has done not only hurts him, but his family back home.
