Abdul Kalam's Nephew quits BJP

Update: 2015-11-23 14:04 GMT
Former President late APJ Abdul Kalam's Nephew Sayed Ibrahim on Monday bid adieu to BJP in protest against the NDA Government's denial to convert the renowned scientist's house in Delhi as his Memorial. Family Members wished to see Abdul Kalam's bungalow in the capital as National Knowledge Centre.

Centre has allotted the house where Abdul Kalam used to live for Union Minister Mahesh Sharma. As a result, Sayed Ibrahim resigned to all the party posts which include the primary membership accusing Centre of failing to fulfill the demand of the people of India. He explained the sole purpose of National Knowledge Centre is to make the youth realize the farsighted vision of Kalam.

Since 2013, Sayed Ibrahim is the Vice President of the BJP Minority Morcha in Tamil Nadu. His exit will be a big blow for the saffron party in the poll bound state.

Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu defended the Government's move saying the allotment was done as per the rule and procedures.
