The Andhra Pradesh employees' union leaders who have been battling for the fulfillment of the demands of the employees had changed their path and decided to go aggressively in their fight against the government. To intensify their protest, the leaders have announced a protest which will kickstart from Tuesday.
Ahead of the protests, the Andhra Pradesh state government's employees' Joint Action Committee leader Bandi Srinivasulu held a press meet to provide details on how the protests are going to be. He said that there was no proper response from the concerned officials and it's time for the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister to step in.
Giving reason for opting for the protest, he said, they were forced to make the tough call as there was no positive response from the government. The government is just killing time by giving statements and nothing more than that. With no option left, we have decided to go for the protest, he said.
Alleging that there is no clarity from the officials on the PRC despite the talks being held from the last two months, the Union leader said there is a contrast between the statements given by the officials and the reality. In the meetings, they say the government is positive towards their demands. But no such announcement comes from them, Bandi Srinivasulu said.
Placing the employees' demands, he said the pending demands including the PRC and GPF and Surrender leaves should be addressed by the government at the earliest or else they will go more aggressive in fighting for their demands. No one is ready to hear our problems and listen to our concerns, he said.
As today marks the protest called by the employees, they are expected to wear black badges to work to show their support for the union. It has been widely reported that the employees will wear black badges for three consecutive days. Starting from today, the protest will go on till the 6th of January by covering various forms of protests. After the protest dates come to an end, the leaders will call for a crucial meeting on the 21st of next month.
