Former Karnataka DIG (Prisons) D Roopa alleged DGP HN Satyanarayana Rao & few other higher officials received cash bags to the tune of Rs 2 crore for providing VIP Facilities to AIADMK supremo VK Sasikala Natarajan in Parappana Agrahara Prison. After the controversial report was leaked, D Roopa was transferred to Traffic and even Satyanarayana Rao got transferred as well. The issue didn't end there itself!
HN Satyanarayana Rao served a notice to D Roopa asking her either to apologise to him by issue statement in all leading newspapers in the next 3 days for making corruption allegations against him or Face defamation suit seeking Rs 50 crore as compensation.
Mr.Rao questioned, 'Why didn't D Roopa take pictures of Convict's VIP Treatment when she managed to capture photographs at other locations in the prison? She couldn't take any such pics as the special kitchen doesn't exist at all'.
The Top Cop even told he would be approaching the Income Tax Department to find out the source of Rs 2 crore that's been mobilised and who got paid.
