CM Chandrababu Naidu wrote an open letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi asking him if he isn't ashamed to visit Andhra Pradesh with empty hands. He came down heavily on Modi for backtracking on Special Category Status and other bifurcation promises.
Chandrababu Naidu mentioned that 5 crore Andhrites are in anger over the betrayal of BJP. He gave a call for black-flag protests against PM's visit to AP.
TDP Chief feels Narendra Modi owes an explanation to the people of AP over failure in fulfilling any of the major promises given during bifurcation and 2019 elections. He reiterated that 29 visits to Delhi for meeting the Prime Minister over the financial assistance for AP hasn't yielded results.
Naidu questioned why NDA Government hasn't accorded Special Category Status for AP so far. He accused Centre of betraying Andhrites by offering just Rs 3,979 crore as against the revenue deficit of Rs 16,000 crore. 'Modi promised to make AP Capital on par with Delhi but he released only Rs 1500 crore until now. Even though we offered to provide land, water, power and incentives, Centre hasn't established Steel Plant in Kadapa. While AP Government allotted 2,909 acres of land for 11 national educational institutions, NDA Government released only Rs 895 crore as against Rs 12,825 crore required to make them fully operational,' he alleged.
On the Visakha Railway Zone announcement by Centre, Chandrababu Naidu accused Centre of taking revenge on AP by splitting the 172-Years-Old Waltair Division and causing a revenue loss of Rs 6,500 crore. He questioned, 'South Coast Railway Zone was announced without mentioning about the Railway Recruitment Board. Isn't it hurting the sentiments of North Andhra People?'.
