Some years ago, caste used to determine living standards of a person in our society. Many scholars had to come forward and educate us that we are discriminating among ourselves and giving outsiders a chance to rule us.
Even after so long, getting out of the shackles of caste system, we still appear to be regressing back into the darker times rather than progressing forward.
We recently saw, Kamma community releasing a song, praising the bigwigs from their community and even asking people feel proud for belonging to that community.
Even though few people tried to point out the shallowness in such comparison, the people belonging to that community supported saying that they deserve to celebrity their identity that they belong to certain community and as humans, they have their rights, to do so.
Looking at them, the other strong caste community in our Telugu states, Kapus also started showing off and boasting about their community.
A poster highlighting film celebrities from Kapu community, has been erected in Rayala seema region.
Well, this is like tit-for-tat and if this kind of behaviour is encouraged once again people will start trying to unite as a community based organisations rather than appreciating a fact that, we all are humans and belong to only one race, human beings.
