Arnab Goswami Arrest: Union Minister Prakash Javdekar Says The Arrest Reminds Him Of Emergency Days
The arrest of Republic TV Editor-in-chief Arnab Goswami has created a sensation. After Kangana Ranaut, a Union Miniter slammed the Maharashtra government on Arnab's arrest.
Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) leader and serving Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change Prakash Javadekar found fault with Maharashtra Police and called the arrest as an attack on press freedom.
'We condemn the attack on press freedom in #Maharashtra. This is not the way to treat the Press. This reminds us of the emergency days when the press was treated like this,' Javdekar's Tweet read.
In his Tweet, he has chrome down severely on Congress party, party chief Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi. He condemned the arrest and slammed the emergency mindset of Congress.
BJP MP Tejasvi Surya from Bengaluru South has also condemned Arnab's arrest and the attack on the press. He even requested the youth of Mumbai to take part in protest carried out by Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) against the arrests.
