YSR Congress MP Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy Today slammed BJP in Lok Sabha for backtracking on Special Status. 'Those who demanded Special Status for AP during bifurcation are now saying that its not a Sanjeevani,' comments the Nellore MP.
On the other hand, TDP MP Rammohan Naidu opined that AP won't get sufficient funds if Special Status wasn't accorded. He also demanded Special Package for the backward districts of Rayalseema and Uttar Andhra.
Responding to the protests of TDP & YCP MPs, Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said: 'Its true that injustice is being done to AP. We have been working fulfilling all the promises of AP Reorganisation Act 2014. Solution for Special Status is in the offing. I'm frequently interacting with AP CM Chandrababu Naidu for helping the state to prosper. Be patientâ¦Discussions were in the final stages'.
