Aruna Miller, a 53-Year-Old Indian American, is in fray for the US House of Representatives from a Congressional seat in Maryland.

Reportedly, Aruna Miller was born in Hyderabad and speaks Telugu fluently. She moved to US in 1972 at the age of 7. Aruna is a successful Civil Engineer. She was elected to House of Delegates in 2010.

Aruna is in race for House of Representatives from Maryland in Washington D.C on behalf of Democrats. She is pitted against her party colleague David Trone. Whoever wins Primary Election on June 26th won't face any hurdles in entering House of Representatives as the sixth Congressional District of Maryland is known to be the stronghold of Democrats.

Washington Post came up with an Article on this contest, 'In the year of the woman, Can a USD 10 Million Man win a House Seat?'. While David Trone spent most his own money for the campaigning, Aruna Miller relied on the crowd funding to collect $1.36 million.

If she emerges as a winner, Aruna Miller will be the second Indian-American Woman to enter the House Of Representatives after Pramila Jayapal from Washington State.
