The third wave of the novel Coronavirus has hit the national capital Delhi. As a result, the fresh infections and casualties in connection with the pandemic have been increasing rapidly.
Amid this tense situation, it has been reported that AAP supremo and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal wants to shut down the markets, and a proposal will be sent to the Centre reportedly.
As the power to shut down markets lies with the Centre, the Delhi government will seek permission to shut the markets which can turn out as the potential hotspots of the virus.
Given the rise in fresh Coronavirus cases, the state government led by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has sent a proposal to Delhi Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal to retreat the decision which permits 200 people from gathering in marriage ceremonies and other functions.
In the proposal, the government asked Anil Baijal to allow only 50 people for functions and ceremonies.
Arvind Kejriwal who called for a press conference on the Coronavirus situation in the state said the authorities and government are not leaving any stone unturned to bring the situation under control.
Talking further, the Chief Minister requested the public to follow safety measures like wearing a face mask and maintaining physical distance outdoors.
