Update: 2021-04-30 09:57 GMT
As a bid to control the rise in fresh Coronavirus infections in Telangana, the state government imposed a night curfew earlier this month that will come to an end from the night of April 30.

With the night curfew ending today, the Telangana government has announced the extension of the existing night curfew. The curfew has been extended for one more week.

As per the orders issued by the Telangana government led by Chief Minister Kalvakuntla Chandrashekhar Rao, the night curfew will be in effect till 5 AM of May 8.

The TS government has once again taken the decision on night curfew after the Telangana High Court asked will the government take more measures as the night curfew will end today.

Hearing a petition on the pandemic situations in the state, the High Court has once again expressed its dissatisfaction over the measures taken by Sarkar to bring the situation under control.

The other day, the High Court heard the petition and adjourned the next hearing to Friday. As announced yesterday, the court once again heard the petition and questioned what are the measures taken by the government.

The High Court told the Advocate General to take a call on new restrictions in 45 minutes, or else it shall decide. The Court maintained that interfering in Government duty is not its intention.

With the High Court issuing directives to take a decision on whether the government will impose a mini lockdown or will impose more restrictions, the TRS government said, the night curfew will be extended.
