The ambitious Dharani portal is turning out to be a dud and ever newer problems are cropping up as the portal is getting going. Many farmers are made to run from pillar to post and finally knock the doors of the court even to get minor entries rectified. Complaints are piling up by each passing day.
To add to the woes, there is a downsizing of staff in the Dharani Portal. Strangely, this is happening at a time when a slew of problems are coming up. Instead of solving them, the Government is reducing the number of employees. The total staff is now less than 25. This is not simply enough to answer the queries and rectify the errors 24x7. Sources also say that three senior IAS officials â Sandip Sultania, Rahul Bojja and Rizvi â have stopped coming to the Dharani War Room. They are said to be attending their regular offices. The reasons for their skipping Dharani work is not known.
Sources say that at least 80 per cent of the works on the Dharani Portal remain to be done and that there is a dire need for additional staff. At such a time, the staff are being downsized, they point out. Let's wait and see how things unfold in the days to come.
