Ashok Gajapati Raju To Move High Court Over Family Trust

Update: 2020-03-07 11:24 GMT
The news of Ashok Gajapathi Raju stripped off from the chairman post of the MANSAS (Maharaja Alak Narayana Society of Arts and Science) trust has resulted in a political storm.

The AP government has issued a GO in this regard and the GO read that Ms. Sanchaita Gajapati will be appointed as the new chairman of the trust. Looks like the latest development did not go well with Ashok Gajapathi Raju and his family.

Ashok Gajapathi Raju who kept his silence on this row has finally opened up and said that this is not the right way to deal with the trust and alleged that the ruling party in AP has its eyes on the costly lands and assets owned by the trust. This includes 105 temples.

Sanchaita Gajapati is the daughter of Uma Gajapathi Raju and Anand Gajapathi Raju and her mother Uma took divorce from Anand Gajapathi Raju in 1991 and married another person.

Ashok Gajapati Raju’s family has decided to move the High Court over the appointment of Sanchaita and the intervention of state government and Gajapati Raju has found fault with the state government behaving this way.

“It is strange that the government has sought to interfere in the affairs of the trusts established by the Raju family and removed me from the chairman posts. Till now, the government has not disclosed the GOs in this regard,” Ashok Gajapati Raju said.

“For the first time, the government has interfered in the affairs through endowments department and hurt the sentiments of the devotees,” he added.
