Asian paints to setup 1700 crs plant in AP

AP government succeeded in wooing another big investment into its fold.AP govt cleared decks for  mega painting plant by Asian Paints in Visakhapatnam.The plant will involve an investment of Rs.1700 crore and Andhra Pradesh government today cleared the hurdles  for the project. The officials planning to establish its plant  after  the allotment of the land and other clearances.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Secretary I.Y.R. Krishna Rao held a review meeting with the Asian Paints officials to sort out  hurdles for the project .The project reportedly come at Pudi village.The Special Investment Promotion Board cleared the proposal a month ago. The country's largest paint maker has approached the government with a proposal to build 400,000 kilolitre manufacturing plant.

Asian paints was in the news for being constantly wooed by the governments of Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh to locate its new plant in their respective states. Asian Paints with a turnover of Rs 12,700 crore operates in 17 countries and has 23 paint manufacturing facilities in the world.The project would be rolled out in two phases
