Assembly & Lok Sabha Elections 2019 Schedule

Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora addressed media at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi on Sunday to announce the schedule for 2019 Lok Sabha and Assembly Elections. He warned stringent action against violators of the model code of conduct.

Sunil Arora: '900 million people will be voting in 2019 General Elections. Ten Lakh polling booths will be set up,10 percent more compared to last time. All the EVMs would be connected to VVPATS. This time, Voters could also see the photos of the candidates in their constituencies. Webcasting is going to be preferred at all the sensitive polling booths. Google, YouTube and Facebook assured that all the political ads on their platforms will be certified'.

2019 Lok Sabha Elections will happen in 7 Phases: Phase 1 - April 11th (91 seats), Phase 2 - April 18th (97 seats), Phase 3 - April 23rd 115 seats), Phase 4 - April 29th (71 seats), Phase 5 - May 6th (51 seats), Phase 6 - May 12th (59 seats), Phase 7 - May 19th (59 seats).

Counting of votes & Results to be declared on May 23rd

No Assembly Polls in Jammu & Kashmir for now, Only Lok Sabha Elections.

Term of 16th Lok Sabha come to an end on June 3rd, 2019.

Four States Assembly Polls:

Assembly Elections will be conducted simultaneously in Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim. Assembly Polls and Lok Sabha Elections will happen in AP on April 11th.

Notification for 175 Assembly Segments in AP will be issued on March 18th. Nominations can be filed on from March 18th to 25th. Scrutiny of Nominations will be on March 26th. Last date to withdraw nominations - March 28th. Polling to happen in April 11th. Counting of votes on May 27th.
