The infamous Atchen Naidu video, where he made some really nasty comments about Nara Lokesh and told a TDP worker in no uncertain terms that Lokesh would never be able to setter the party to victory, seems to be taking its toll on the TDP.
On Wednesday, both Atchen Naidu and Nara Lokesh jointly attended a dharma in Tirupati. Though, they tried to show some bonhomie by sitting side by side and Lokesh had even put his hand on the shoulders of Atchen, the distrust and pent-up anger was all too visible.
In fact, they avoided looking into each other's eye. The party leaders maintained a studious silence on the issue. Sources say that there was a gag order and hence, no one has talked about it. IExcept for posing for some photographs to show that all was well, there was little eye contact between both the leaders. In fact, when Lokesh addressed the media, Atchen Naidu sat in the back row and despite being the state president, let MLA Rama Naidu sit by Lokesh's side.
Insiders say that Atchen Naidu is quite disgruntled and more of his anger is likely to come after the Tirupati bypoll results are out. Many in the party feel that Lokesh isn't quite the leader that a party would require while in opposition.
