Mumbai-based lawyer Jahnvi Gadkar was Today sent to 14-day judicial custody alleged involvement in hit-and-run case.
On Monday night, Jahnvi who was in a drunken state rammed her Audi Q3 into a taxi. In the accident, Two people died and three other sustained severe injuries.
Jahnvi Gadkar was arrested immediately and sent for medical examination. Tests proved the accused consumed alcohol three times more than the permissible limit. During the interrogation, Jahnvi revealed she met her colleagues at a restaurant and had two pegs of whiskey to celebrate a new project. Cops suspect Jahnvi might have drove in the wrong lane for about 11 kilometres before crashing into the taxi. A case of rash driving and culpable homicide not amounting to murder has been booked. She could face jail term up to 10 years.
