Australia smashed the 9-year record set by Sri Lanka on Tuesday in Pallekele. In the first T20 international match between Australia and Sri Lanka, The Kangaroo hard-hitter Glen Maxwell came all guns blazing to help his Team post a record T20 score of 263 in 20 Overs for the loss of 3 wickets.

Glen Maxwell made 145 runs in just 65 balls. This include 9 sixes and 14 boundaries. Cameos from Travis Head (45), Khawaja (36) and David Warner (28) helped the cause.

Sri Lankans have a bad day on field. They gave away over 11 runs per over. Perera, Senanayake and Pathirana picked one wicket each.

In reply, Sri Lanka scored 67 for the loss of 3 wickets in 7 Overs. Chandimal and Mendis are in the crease. The required rate is over 15 runs per Over and Australia might have the last laugh as well.

In 2007, Sri Lanka posted a world record T20 score of 260 for 6 against Kenya. The Island Nation defeated Kenya by 172 runs in the match.
