Australian opener Aaron Finch shattered his own world record to set a new benchmark in the Twenty20 International (T20I). In the third T20 against Zimbabwe, He scored 172 runs off 76 deliveries. This destructive knock include 10 sixes and 16 fours. A strike rate of 226.31 was maintained by Finch to help Australia post a mammoth total of 229/2.
Interestingly, Finch holds the previous record for Highest Individual Score in T20s. He made 156 runs of 63 balls against England in 2013. That record breaking knock include 14 sixes and 11 fours.
ICC lauded Aaron Finch for the world record score. Even the first 200-run partnership in T20I between Finch & Archy Short was appreciated.
In reply, Zimbabwe managed only 129 and give a win to Australia by a margin of 100 runs.
