Azim Premji donates over 50% of Wealth to Charity

Wipro Chairman Azim Premzi who is the first Indian to sign the Giving Pledge has yet agains proved he have a big heart. Could you believe he allocated over 50% of his total wealth for funding philanthropic activities?

Azim Premji owns 73.39% stake in Wipro which is country's third largest IT firm with net worth of 415.7 billion which sums up to Rs 99,500 crore.

In the company annual report for the year concluded in March 2015, Mr. Premji mentioned he has allocated he has allocated 39% of Wipro's shares to a trust which is meant for Philanthropic Activities.

Giving Pledge is an initiative to bring the wealthiest individuals under one platform to make them contribute to the philanthropic activities and charity. Azim Premji joined it in 2013 and appealed wealthy people to contribute for creating a better world.
