With the deadline for filing nominations closing at 3pm on Sunday, AIMIM  declared  its candidates contesting the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) elections. Among the candidates announced by MIM one was a final year B tech student. The All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chose 21-year-old Fahad as its candidate for the Uppuguda division.

Fahad Bin Samad Abdad is  a final year civil engineering student at Deccan Engineering College. He filed nomination from Uppuguda division for the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) elections.

Fahad's father Samad Bin Abdad was elected as corporator from Uppuguda in the previous elections. As he opted out of active politics this time, the party picked his son Fahad. Surprisingly the young kid completed 21 years, the age eligibility to contest the election, in last October.  However, the announcement has left several aspirants for the AIMIM ticket disappointed.
