I Can Sell Petrol-Diesel For Rs 35-40 Per Litre!

Baba Ramdev declared he can sell petrol and diesel for just Rs 35 to 40 per litre in the country if government permits. 'If Government offers some tax relief and permits me, I can provide petrol and diesel to India at Rs 35 to 45 per litre,' he said.

The Yoga Guru stressed the need for bringing Petrol and Diesel under the lowest tax slab of the Goods & Services Tax (GST) instead of under highest tax slab of 28 percent. Taking a dig at the government over it's reluctance to slash excise duty on fuel, He opined India would still function even if there is a revenue loss and it can be recovered by levying heavy taxes on the rich.

When quizzed if he would campaign for BJP in 2019 Polls, Baba Ramdev questioned why should he do that when he isn't a member of Saffron Party.

Currently, Centre levies Excise Duty of Rs 19.48 per litre on petrol and Rs 15.33 per litre on diesel.
