From the day one of state bifurcation many of the TDP leaders hints that Guntur will be the capital of residual state.Even the party chief also reveals feelers about the new capital.With the impetus now on building a new capital for AP, the TDP supremo and Chief minister Chandrababu Naidu seems to be zeroing in on a place close to Guntur Vijayawada region.
Though Professor Sivaramakrishnan committee is touring the state to select the suitable location many believes that Guntur will be the states new capital.
TDP Chief Chandrababu is preparing ground to kick start the work of building new capital and he arranged meeting with his Party Mps.According to sources Babu directed them about the demands to be made in the parliament. Even though he didnt mentioned the capital city name he reportedly asked his MPS to demand centre an amount of 5000 crores for constructing new capital
Addressing his party MPS Mr. Naidu, who had already said that he would develop Guntur and Vijayawada into mega twin cities, asserted that along with Tenali, he would develop these three towns.
Naidu said that the Outer Ring Road would be laid between the three towns and asked his MPS to pressurize the Centre to get funds to construct the same.He even asked them to put proposal of metro project in these cities.
With this it was almost confirmed that Vijayawada-Guntur as the new capital and its just mere formality to announce the state capital officially.But all the talk of developing the Vijayawada, Guntur, Tenali and Mangalagiri region on the lines of Hyderabad have aroused the fears of the people of North-Coastal AP.
