Every time Balapur Laddu goes for a record price. Going by the same trend, the laddu was bought for a high price this time too. The auction was held earlier today and as many as nine people participated. But a member of the Balapur Ganesh Utsav Committee member bought the laddu.
Vangeti Lakshma Reddy, an Utsav Committee member bought the laddu in auction for a record price of Rs 24.60 lakhs. Balapur Laddu broke the previous year's record by recording a higher price of over Rs 5 lakh.
Balapur Laddu was being auctioned for a very long time. Devotees see laddu as a good sign. They won't shy away from spending a big amount to win the auction. The possession of Balapur Ganesh will not be started unless the auction gets finished.
After the auction, the laddu is distributed among the devotees. The tradition of auctioning laddu was started back in 1994 and since then, the tradition is going on. This year, the laddu was sold at a record price. The auction started with a basic price of Rs 450. But at the end of the auction, the price reached 24 lakhs.
Just like Khairatabad Ganesh, Balapur Ganesh is also a famous Ganesh pandal in the city. Devotees reach the area in big numbers and offer prayers. This year too, people visited Balapur Ganesh in big numbers.
