Balika Vadhu actress in theft and domestic violence case?

The New Year is definitely not starting on the right note for TV actor Smita Bansal. Smita, who rose to popularity with her role of Sumitra in "Balika Vadhu" tele serial has been embroiled in legal trouble.

Smitha's  sister-in-law  Megha Gupta, has reportedly filed a harassment case against the actress  accusing her  stealing jewellery and money worth Rs 50 lakh. A case has been filed under section 498(A) at the Mahila Thana in Gurgaon.

The case was filed by wife of Smita's brother Saurabh Bansal. Saurabh  had married Megha Gupta in 2009 and  the couple had shifted to the UK.

Megha, however returned to Gurgaon earlier this year, after she had a fallout with her husband.however Smita denied the allegations and said she has not seen a copy of the FIR as of now and she would be able to deal with the charges once she receives it.Talking about her relationship with Megha, Smita says she didn't get enough time to spend with her sister in law.

Smita speaking to a daily said  "I haven't spent enough time with her, as my brother stays in London.I have met her once in a year and whenever she would come to India, she would go to her mother’s house in Gurgaon."
