Telangana Chief Minister Kalvakuntla Chandrashekar Rao aka KCR was in the news with his explosive press meet held on Tuesday in Hyderabad. He slammed the Union budget and breathed fire on the national parties for failing miserably on various aspects. One statement from his press meet made many heads turn.
Speaking to the media after the budget was announced, KCR took everyone by surprise by raising a new demand that the Indian Constitution should be re-written to bring a change in the country. He said that the constitution is unable to work in the current scenario.
KCR said that a new Constitution should be drafted as it is the need of the hour to give a new direction. Citing the examples of other countries, KCR said that when it was needed other countries have rewritten their constitutions and the same should be done for India too.
K. Chandrashekar Rao's comments on drafting a new Constitution did not go well with the State Chief of Bharatiya Janata Party for Telangana Bandu Sanjay Kumar. Calling the Chief Minister cruel-minded, Bandi Sanjay said that his comments are insulting to the Constitution.
âI am objecting to what KCR said at the press meet on drafting a new constitution. No one can erase Dr. BR Ambedkar's spirit for the constitution. I appeal to one and all to not take such comments seriously," Bandi Sanjay said.
Bandi Sanjay Kumar also lashed out at the Telangana Chief Minister for his comments on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sithraraman. The state BJP chief asked how can a Chief Minister use such a language.
During his press meet, KCR had slammed the budget and said it is a golmaal as the minorities, farmers, and the handloom sector was not mentioned in the budget. It is directionless and the income tax slabs were changed, he said.
KCR added that the Union budget had nothing to offer for the common man, farmers, taxpayers, employees, and small traders. No one knows why the Union government did not try to boost the health sector when other countries are boosting the sector, he asked.
