Update: 2022-03-23 11:54 GMT
As a piece of good news for India, the fresh Covid cases have been coming rapidly and for the past few weeks, the cases count is at the lowest. Even the severely hit states with Covid are also reporting the dip in the single-day cases triggered by the deadly virus.

With the Covid situation coming under control, the Union Government had come up with a big decision to do away with the existing measures to fight the Covid. The existing measures will not be in existence after the 31st of this March. Issuing an official statement, the Union government had said the same.

In a letter that was sent to the states and union territories, National Disaster Management Authority said that the National Disaster Management Authority had decided that there is no need to have the restrictions and hence the decision was taken to remove the guidelines. However, the guidelines on wearing facemasks continue.

"After taking into consideration the overall improvement in the situation and preparedness of the Government to deal with the pandemic, National Disaster Management Authority has taken a decision that there may not be any further need to invoke the provisions of the Disaster Management Act for COVID containment measures," the Union government said.

It has to be mentioned that certain guidelines have been introduced by the Union government a couple of years back when the Covid pandemic hit us. The guidelines deal with the restrictions on public movement and others. Now the guidelines will be removed after this month.
