BC Associations in Andhra Pradesh has been opposing the five percent reservations granted for Kapus by TDP Government. On Saturday, A dharna has been staged by the members of the Backward Classes in Tirupati. They raised slogans against the BC Ministers in AP Cabinet & even their effigies have been burnt.
Representatives of Backward Classes alleged injustice is being done to them by the TDP Government. They questioned, 'How could Government grant reservations for Kapus when Justice Manjunath didn't favour it? This is violation of the constitution. If reservations were sanctioned to Kapus, It would be applicable to all the jobs and posts. TDP Government must disclose the report offered by Justice Manjunath'.
AP Government is in a tricky situation now. If it stays firm on its decision, Backward Classes may revolt against the Ruling Party. If it backtracks on the Reservations, Kapus will launch the fresh agitation. What will Chandrababu do now?
