Update: 2021-06-05 10:51 GMT
The 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) tournament was suspended mid-way with the Covid impact. The Board of Control for Cricket in India(BCCI) had earlier announced that the remainder of the tournament will be held in UAE.

Now it is said that the BCCI had kick-started its efforts to conduct the remaining matches. Former Indian cricketer, BCCI President Sourav Ganguly, and secretary Jay Shah are holding talks with the ECB officials.

Media reports claimed that the BCCI wants to make a few changes in the match schedule and the last schedule of the tournament is likely to be played at one venue. The updated schedule will be announced soon.

It is also said that, as per the updated schedule, the remaining 31 matches in IPL 2021 would be played in 25 days. Eight doubleheaders are likely to be played in 25 days.

As per the media reports, the second phase of IPL might commence between September 17th to 19th. The announcement on the IPL schedule is likely to come from BCCI by June end.

Three cities- Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, and Dubai will host the IPL 2021, like how it was done for the previous season too. However, the BCCI wants to hold the last phase of the matches in a single venue and Dubai might be the top pick of the BCCI.
