Since an year, There are a lot of reports saying PM Narendra Modi is in favour of early polls and jamili elections. Even Election Commission declared it's ready to conduct early polls from October 2018.
After facing defeat in the recent by-elections held in few BJP-ruled states, BJP Leadership seems to have dropped the idea of early polls. In the meeting attended by Chief Ministers of 13 BJP-ruled States, A discussion happened on the strategy to be implemented for achieving good results in the Assembly and Lok Sabha Polls scheduled to happen within one year.
In addition, Possibility of conducting all the elections including Panchayat Polls at once was discussed. BJP Leadership aims to achieve consensus at least by 2022 for implementing Jamili Elections.
In AP, Chandrababu Naidu seems to be planning his moves anticipating early polls. Even Jaganmohan Reddy planned his Padayatra in advance so that there will be enough time to prepare for elections. If elections happen only in April-May 2019, Andhra Politicians needn't rush as there would be plenty of time to prepare.
