Bengaluru To Follow Lockout Once Again

In the wake of the rapid growth of the pandemic cases, the Karnataka government led by Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa imposed a strict lockout in Capital Bengaluru as declared earlier.

The new lockout will be active from the 14th of July and last till the 22nd of the month. The complete guidelines for the new lockout will be announced by the government on Monday. The lockout will be observed from 8 PM to 5 AM.

Karnataka CM BS Yediyurappa took to twitter to announce the new lockout and said milk, vegetables, fruits, medicines, and groceries that fall under the essential services will be made available as usual and there will be no issues in this regard.

 
He urged the people to please corporate with the government and authorities by following the guidelines issued by them so that they can combat the virus together.  He also lauded the efforts of ASHA workers and frontline workers.

Looking at the cases, the state has as many as 36,216 infections and 613 fatalities in connection with the virus. Bengaluru alone has 16,862 infections and turned out as the hotspot for the disease.
