Xiaomi Phones which entered into the Indian market few months ago and recording good number of sales seems to be a threat to security.
Indian Air Force (IAF) believes there is every chances of security threat while using Xiaomi Phones as they have been sending user data to remote servers located in China. The latest development is that Indian Air Force has asked its personnel and their families not to use 'Xiaomi Redmi 1s'.
F-Secure, a leading security firm, conducted a test on Xiaomi Phones and found out that these budget smart phones have been sending user name, phone number and IMEI plus numbers from address book and Text Messages back to Beijing. Apparently, Taiwan Government is thinking on banning Xiaomi Phones citing alleged cyber security threat.
