In further setback to beleaguered Congress in Seemandhra, former PCC Chief Botsa Satyanarayana is likely to join BJP. Botsa, who is slowly but steadily distancing himself from Congress party, after the Congress had ignored him while appointing PCCs for two new states of erstwhile Andhra Pradesh, is all set to shift his loyalties now.
The Senior Congress leader from Vijayanagaram held a meeting with his supporters on Tuesday Sources close to Botsa say that he is disappointed over not getting any responsibilities in Congress party. He is reportedly in touch with BJP senior leaders.
Many feel that it will be a major jolt to Congress if Botsa quits the party as he is from the powerful Kapu community which has considerable population in Seemandhra. Previously any voice of of dissent against the ruling party was dealt severely by the leader.
Botsa is also planning to change his Assembly Segment from Chipurupalli to S. Kota.According to sources, the BJP has also promised S. Kota. Assembly seat
The BJP also feels that the entry of the politician into their fold will enhance the prospects of its revival in the Seemandhra region. BJP leader M Venkaiah Naidu is said to have played a key role in Botsa to join the party, according to sources.
