Olympic and World Championship silver medallist P V Sindhu has signed a four-year sports sponsorship deal with Chinese sports brand Li Ning for a whopping amount of Rs.50 crores.
Director of Sunlight Sports Pvt Ltd and the multi-national exclusive partner of Li-Ning said that Sindhu's deal is one of the biggest in world badminton. This deal is actually close to Puma's deal (8-years deal for Rs. 100 crores) with Indian Cricket Team captain Virat Kohli. As per the reports, Sindhu will get Rs 40 crore as sponsorship and the rest will be used for equipment. This is Li-Ning's second time collaborating with Sindhu for two years in 2014 and 2015 for Rs.1.25 crore a year.
If the buzz is to be believed, Li Ning also offered a two-year deal for 8 crores to Puripalli Kashyap. The details are yet to be known.
