Big Industrialists Vie For Rajya Sabha Seats

Update: 2020-03-03 04:37 GMT
With the Rajya Sabha polls round the corner and with the TRS poised to win all the seats in Telangana, an entirely new game is unfolding now. Earlier, the names of senior politicians like Kadiyam Srihari, Nayini Narsimha Reddy and K K were floating. There was also a talk that KCR's daughter would be re-launched through Rajya Sabha route. There was also this buzz about Khammam's Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy would  be compensated for making way for Nama Nageshwara Rao in the Lok Sabha polls from Khammam.

But, now it turns out that big ticket industrialists are vying for the Rajya Sabha seats in Telangana and are getting ready to shell out huge sums to get the TRS tickets. Names of at least 10 big industrialists are in circulation in the Rajya Sabha race. Among the names in currency are Damodara Rao. Now, who is Damodara Rao? He is the CEO of Namaste Telangana and a member of the TTD. The names of the owners of Aurobindo Pharma and Hetero Drugs are also doing the rounds. At least one industrialist might be propped up as the TRS candidate, according to sources.

Meanwhile, former minister Jupalli Krishna Rao, former speaker Madhusudanachary are also trying their luck. However, the final decision is in the hands of maverick KCR, whose ways, as always, are inscrutable.
