Big relief to AP Government!

The Supreme Court Today dismissed the petition seeking CBI probe or Court-monitored enquiry into the firing at Seshachalam forest which lead to the killing of 20 People who were believed to be red sander smugglers.

An Advocate and few individuals approached Supreme Court to bring to its notice that the victims include innocent wood-cutters from neighbouring state Tamil Nadu. The petitioners allege misuse of power by AP Government and demanded a CBI enquiry to reveal shocking facts behind the encounter.

However, Chief Justice HL Dattu felt there is no such necessity as Hyderabad High Court and National Human Rights Commission are already looking into the issue.
Supreme Court order came as big relief to AP Government which is facing severe criticism human rights activists and political parties since the day firing took place. While AP Cops claim smugglers attacked them with sickles, axes and other weapons, Kin of the victims allege cops had killed innocent people.
