Big shock to Galla Jayadev, Amara Raja Batteries slapped with closure orders!

Leading Power Electronics & Distribution Products Amara Raja Group run by Telugu Desam Party MP Galla Jayadev's family faced a big blow from the government agency APPCB.

The Multinational conglomerate company has received orders from the Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board(AAPCB) to close the plants for violating the pollution control regulations.

As per the media reports, the APPCB has found that the manufacturing units of Amara Raja Group in the state are causing severe water pollution due to the release of lead from these plants.

In the orders, the APPCB has directed the company to close the manufacturing units in Karakambadi, Tirupati, and Nunegundlapalli in the state on the grounds of violation of pollution control regulations.

Responding to the notices it received, the Amara Raja Group, said, it had received the closure notices and it would make sure that the interests of the stakeholders are protected.

'As a responsible organization, we have taken many steps to protect the environment in our units over the years. We have also made significant investments in pollution control,' Amara Raja Group was quoted by the media.
