Update: 2014-01-09 09:15 GMT
Ace filmmaker SS Rajamouli's historical project 'Bahubali' landed in a legal mess now. Bhattakalankar Soudha Swamiji Mutt, a Karnataka-based Jain Mutt, slapped a legal notice on the makers objecting the title 'Bahubali' who was worshipped as Gomateshwara is a higly admired god by Jain community.

According to the Jain Mutt, Lord Gomateshwara is known for peace and sacrifice but the filmmaker has hurt their religious sentiments by showing the actors wielding swords and fighting in a violent manner. They fear Gomateshwara's story is being portrayed in a bad light and wants the producers to stop making the movie if the film is really based on their Lord.

As per the 10th century transcripts, Bahubali and Bharat were the sons of King Bhagwaan Rishabh Dev.  When the King divided the kingdom equally to his two sons, they preferred a war and it was Bahubali who won it and later he chooses ascetic path.

Producer Shobu Yarlagadda made it clear Bahubali is a purely fictional story and its not against any religion or community.
