The Bird flu fear has been ringing the danger bells across the country, with the virus in the poultry animals spreading from one state to the other state severely affecting the Poultry industry.
Amid, these unwanted developments, the Delhi government led by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal swung into action and imposed a ban on the import of live birds into the city.
Along with this, a 24-hour helpline has also been set up in the city to clear the doubts in the minds of the public over the avian bird flu outbreak
The Chief Minister addressed the media today over the outbreak. Speaking to the media, he elaborated on the safety and preventive measures taken by the government through there is no evidence of the Bird flu in the city.
Kejriwal told the media that, as many as 104 samples have been collected so far which were already sent to Jalandhar for testing purposes. The test reports are expected to be out in a couple of days.
Earlier, the government constituted an expert team to keep surveillance on the situation in the city in every district. The Veterinary doctors were also instructed to monitor the situation.
The union government confirmed the bird flu outbreak in six states, Kerala, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, and Gujarat, media reports claimed.
Several states have already started culling the ducks and chicken as a bid to see that the flue is not spread further.
