It seems the BJP is in a hurry. In a mad rush to induct people, the BJP is not even looking at the antecedents of the people. As a result, questionable people are being joined these days.
On Wednesday, the Ghaziabad BJP leaders in Uttar Pradesh have organised a party joining programme amid much fanfare. Hundreds joined the party under the leadership of one Kapil Gurjar. The party released pics with a garlanded Kapil Gurjar and the local BJP leaders to the media. But, soon it became known that Gurjar had shot to national infamy when he fired rounds at a group of Shaheenbagh protesters ahead of the Delhi assembly elections. A case is still pending against him.
Realising the gaffe, the BJP hastily removed him from the party. It also issued a hurriedly written statement saying: In the mahanagar office today, some persons from BSP were inducted into the party. In the same crowd, Kapil Gurjar was also present. We were not aware of his involvement in the Shaheen Bagh matter. The moment the party was made aware, we cancelled his membership.' If only the BJP checked the antecedents of the man they are taking in.
